rinaFood is our daily nutritional support for the body. It is such an essential part of our survival that there are pretend food for our children to play with. They range from the affordable plastic food, to the traditional wooden ones and now there are the modern knitted and felt pretend food. Whether you have a prince or a princess, pretend food is one toy that never fail to keep the kids entertained for hours. My princess has spent hours dicing her wooden vegetables, cooking up a feast for her bears, having tea parties with her dolls and serving me tea while I am busy typing away on my laptop.

Just when you think the designers have served up every dish imaginable, something new arrives on the ‘imaginary menu’. Also, each food creation is realistic to the last detail. If you don't look closely, you wouldn't be able to notice that they are actually not edible. The quality and realism of each food just gets better and better, making our choice harder and harder, because every food just “smell” so delicious and almost good enough to be eaten.

We had a really hard time making a decision on which food to get for our web store. Finally, we chose the knitted play food from Lark. Lark is based in the historical town of Daylesford, close to Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. Lark's whimsical range of toys are lovingly hand knitted by artisans in accordance with Fair Trade practices.

Then, the knitted toy progress as a play food for a toddler. When the child is done with all the tea parties the knitted toy is perfect as a pincushion, a squeezable stress-relievers or simply just a display to add some zest to your shelf in the kitchen.
